Title: Arbitrarily accurate, nonparametric coarse-graining with Markov
renewal processes and the Mori-Zwanzig formalism
Abstract: Stochastic dynamics are increasingly common in scientific
pursuits, though fraught with computational challenges. Two common
issues, state definitions and separate time scales can significantly
impede the use of the usual toolbox. We combine Markov Renewal Processes
and the Mori-Zwanzig formalism to address these difficulties. Markov
renewal processes address difficulties with state definitions and
Mori-Zwanzig theory provides a data driven approach to parametrize such
processes.
