My research interests lie in the meta-science space and research development through the lens of natural language processing and mathematics. I am very interested in how researchers decide what questions to ask/research and how they form collaborations based on that and in general. My PhD research focused on extracting, revealing, and exploring the known unknowns or goals for scientific knowledge mentioned in the literature (ignorance statements). I created a knowledge-base of such statements that we termed an ignorance-base to help researchers better explore the state of our scientific knowledge and ignorance. I am continuing this work through the Data Science Research Institute. I am also interested in clinical natural language processing and I am working and learning about Veterinary health records. I am also teaching mathematics in biology and medicine (Math 455) in Fall 2023.
